Also known as "Loula", Louis Giraud (1896 - 1985) worked in the French Riviera town of Vallauris, opening a studio in the 1920's. One of his apprentices from 1936-38 was Alexandre Kostanda, who was later head of the studio from 49 to 53 when he opened his own studio. Kostanda's mother Irene also worked for Giraud as a decorator from 1930 to 1953. At the start of the 1980's Giraud moved to Biot, opening the "Vieux Biot" studio.
Production tended to be for the local tourist market and quality was good.
