VEB Haldensleben

The town of Haldensleben situated in Northern Germany, was formerly part of East Germany.  The company was formed originally in 1845, continued production before the Second World War,(as Carstens Uffrecht) and afterwards, with the new name.  Quality of production was good.  Marks usually consist of a number and sometimes a spaceship like image.

You may well have wondered what VEB stands for? It means Volkseigener Betrieb - the People's Factory/State Owned.
