Chance Glass

Robert Lucas Chance, previously a manager at Nailsea, bought the British Crown Glass Company in 1824. He was joined by his brother William and the factory became known as Chance Brothers. The company was taken over by Pilkington glass in 1945. Popular designs from Chance include the Spiderweb range by Robert Goodden, the Fiesta range, and the handkerchief vases produced from the 1950's up until 1981 when the factory was closed.
