Item No: T48
Vintage French Needlepoint dating from the 1970's. This example is entitled L'Oiseleur and is from an original painting.
These were originally sold as kits for people to create their own tapestry and many French ladies did them! The wools came from Aubusson and Dollfus Mieg & Cie (DMC) in Alsace and the printed canvases were often edited by Corot, Paris. The original designs were executed by various artists, some unknown, others like Jean Lurcat. These kits have been re-edited in recent years and are available from specialist shops.
Size: 78cm x 64 (30.5in x 25)
Mounted on a wooden Frame.
