Poole Pottery Charger

Item No: G34

Large Poole Pottery charger from the Freeform range, decorated in the PRP pattern designed by Alfred Burgess Read, chief designer at Poole. Produced during the 1950s and 60s, it is reminiscent of a spirograph design, typical of the modern, organic design of the 50s.

Marked with the factory mark used from 1959-67, impressed shape number 920, pattern code PRP with the prefix X.  This indicates that it was painted by Gwen Haskins, who worked at Poole from 1938 to 1977 and who was senior paintress from the 1950s. The glaze is in the Bracken colourway in Black and White on Alpine White.

Size: 13in (33cm) in diameter.
