Decorative stoneware dish by Alain Blanchard, produced in 1972, when he worked at the Keraluc factory in Brittany, France. A native of Nantes, he moved to Quimper in 1969, studying at the art school under Jos le Corre and Georges Connan. Between 1971 and 73 Blanchard worked at Keraluc, prior to moving to Méjou Roz, where he set up the Poterie du Méjou and where he continues to work in both stoneware and porcelain.
Brown glazed with a sgrafitto decor glazed in beige and greenish blue enamels. Dish is signed to the base. 21.5cm x 17 (8.5in x 6.5) approx.
