A one owner brightly coloured Tablecloth made with Marrakesh Jonelle Duracolour fabric. Size: 46in wide x 60 long (118cm x 152). Designed for Jonelle Group (Bon Marché, John Lewis, Peter Jones) by Jyoti Bhomik a young designer, born in India, who originally trained as a graphic designer at the Central School. Jhoti designed for Heals’ in the sixties. Several designs are listed in the V&A archives. Bhomik combined Indian/Eastern motifs with a Carnaby Street Colour scheme. The late 1960s was a time when the West was fascinated by Eastern cultures, hence the name of this fabric. The floral motifs resemble the psychedelic artwork found on posters, record sleeves and underground publications of the era.
